When it's time to pray

Hola,
So Casa Bernabe has been an adventure so far. Some of us have been pulling out rotten corn stalks from the garden, chopping vegetables, singing songs with toddlers, chasing toddlers, holding babies till your arms are about to fall off, and attempting what we would call Spanish.
And when we step back from it all, it seems obvious that God is working. But when you are in the midst of the work, or when you are in the midst of a room where there seem to be too many volunteers, it's easy to forget the divine.
It's only the beginning and we are all willing to work, but pray that we more so would be willing to see the eternal purpose of it all. Already our team has been put through the fire, as we have been asked to split, and as Cressia has tried as much as she can to make sure everyone feels ok here. But there is more confusion than can be controlled. We've tried to make plans and assign jobs, but we are still in the interim and some of us feel very unsettled. And the feeling is not bringing peace, which means it is not from God.
So pray for us as we settle in, that we each be reassured of our roles here, and that Satan would NOT steal our joy in the midst of the confusion of figuring out who belongs where. Because someone greater is in control. And we need our God's peace.
Tenemos un amigo que nos ama, nos ama, nos ama, nos ama... su nombre es Jesus.

Praying for the entire team that God's grace and peace would be upon you all during this time of transition and figuring things out in a new place. Andrea was telling me about how the team got split up on day one, that is a definite bummer.
Stand in faith and know that God is in control even though things don't seem that way. I pray He gives you all clarity and vision and the strength to press on.

    Romans 8:28
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

    keep the faith!

  2. Hey team,
Here is one good thing I can see in this situation: Right away, you are made aware of your great need for God - for His wisdom and care and providence - and you are strong in prayer (and being supported in prayer by many back home) rather than being lulled into passivity and self-reliance with easy circumstances.

    Ephesians 6:16
In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one.

    praying!

  3. My Sweet Friends,

I'm SO proud of you guys! And one beautiful sentence comes to mind: "Yo Soy..."
    Faithful
    Strong
    Sufficient
    Your Peace
    Your Portion
    Willing-Able
I Am that I Am (in the midst of doubt)

    And the list goes one....

You are in our prayers as you walk this first adventure out as a team. He is faithful! Thank you for being the hands and feet of Jesus the children of CB this Summer!

  4. So I know you guys don't know me but I was in your position last year. Let me assure you that life does settle into a routine. You can't help but fall in love with Casa Bernabe while you are there. Just make sure that you don't try to keep up with the one weekers...set your own slower pace. Things will settle down. It just takes a couple of days.
