Hi friendly Blog followers!
We thought we'd give you a more thorough update on how everything's been going down here, so here goes.

Today, Morgan is thankful for siestas and soft soil! She spent the day with small children and weeds. It was wonderful.

Alison is thankful for a conversation breakthrough. She and Ashley were able to talk and laugh with the beautiful ladies in their house for the first time. Praise God for good relationships!

Andrea is thankful for beautiful little children with open hearts and huge smiles. (And hot showers, on a lesser note).

Lauren Harlow is thankful for the women who are willing to live with 2 and 3 year olds (18 of them!) and give them the support of a healthy mom. The whole team seconds that one. Also, she's thankful that 2 and 3 year old boys still like to cuddle.

Emily is thankful for Chelsea, the patient 4 year old who teaches her basic Spanish words. And hydrogen peroxide for all the boys.

Matt is thankful for Aleve and the way little Guatemalan children say "Mateo" and giggle.

Ashley is thankful for ear plugs. She didn't wake up at all last night (for the first time in a long time)!!! Praise God for that!

Lauren Haefliger is thankful that women in the kitchen are so open-hearted and especially patient. Smiles and a loving touch mean so much.

Sara is thankful that she still has all 10 fingers after a few hours with the monstrous butcher knives. Also for the help of the wonderful women in the kitchen.

Cressia is thankful for God's faithfulness in bringing together this team. He really has provided in amazing ways for each of our needs. Grande es su fidelidad!

Beth is thankful for breaks. Also, for warm water (which nobody expected!!!) Such a blessing to everyone!!

Thank you for your prayer for our team and these beautiful children. God is faithful in so many ways!!!!

  1. Ashley, hearing that you're grateful for your earplugs made me laugh...I actually wrote a whole journal entry about my earplugs once :)
Glad you all are having a good time!

(P.S. if none of you know who this is, I am both a friend of ashley's and a former ROHer who went to Guatemala last year...so I love reading about what y'all are doing and how the orphanage is!)
