Well, this is it. This has been a life changing two months, and I hope this blog has in some small way communicated that to you all and that you, too, were changed; filled with compassion for the children and a renewed desire to come alongside them and bring healing and peace in the name of Jesus. I promise you from experience that you will not regret it.
I want to end this blog with a Franciscan benediction that has impacted me greatly. Read it well, please. It is filled with truth and life.
---------------------------
May God bless you with discomfort
At easy answers, half-truths,
And superficial relationships
So that you may live deep
Within your heart.
May God bless you with anger
At injustice, oppression,
And exploitation of people,
So that you may work for justice,
Freedom, and peace.
May God bless you with tears
To shed for those who suffer pain,
Rejection, hunger, and war,
So that you may reach out your
Hand to comfort them and
To turn their pain into joy.
And may God bless you with
Enough foolishness
To believe that you can make
A difference in the world,
So that you can do what others
Claim cannot be done,
And bring justice and kindness to
All our children and the poor.
-------------------------
All praise and glory to the God of the universe who holds these beloved children in His hands. May we truly be servants of His will and bring His peace and love and healing to all. What an incredible joy it is to serve our God!
Please remember the children, all the children, in your prayers. Please.
May God be glorified....
